Molly De Hetre Meeker was born and raised in Youngstown, Ohio. She and Charlie Meeker purchased of a piece of land in Dry Creek Valley, California in 1977 where they planted Zinfandel and other grapes. In 1983 they made their first wine and a year later built a humble winery and set up a teepee for tastings. Nowadays, Molly is president of the winery, spreading the good word about Meeker wines across the country. We’re pleased to welcome her as our guide for this 5-course paired dinner featuring Meeker Wines.

First Course

Dry, fun wine characterized by aromas of tropical fruits and lime, balanced with great acidity.
Pairing: Panzanella
Arugula, Roma crunch, rosemary focaccia croutons, caponata, gorgonzola, micro basil, white balsamic vinaigrette

Second Course

Chardonnay | “Gamboge”
Notes of nectarines, peaches and orange blossom, with subtle hints of jasmine and butter.
Pairing: Cacio e Pepe
Bucatini, Parmigiano Reggiano, fresh herbs, preserved lemon

Third Course

Merlot | Handprint
Dark fruits like currant and cherries with hints of toffee and caramel. Toasty oak and big powerful tannins throughout the palate and finish of the wine.
Pairing: Gorgonzola Polenta
Crispy polenta cake, caramelized shallots, garlic confit, wild mushroom cream, scallion, white truffle essence

Fourth Course

Cabernet Sauvignon | Handprint
Bouquet of dark berries, baking spices and vanilla, layers of plums and dried violets. Aromas of dark fruits, berries and currants with finish of vanilla and sandalwood.
Pairing: Osso Bucco
Braised veal shank, gremolata, saffron risotto, roasted root crop, red wine demi-glace

Fifth Course

Dessert Wine | FroZin
Notes of fresh blackberry and raspberry, tons of acidity to balance the fruit sweetness. (A true dessert in a glass)
Pairing: Chocolate Semifreddo
Dark chocolate, chocolate milk foam, hazelnut pirouline
